Aldi recalls more than 46K pressure cookers over burn risk

(NewsNation) — Supermarket chain Aldi has recalled more than 46,000 pressure cookers after multiple people were severely burned while using them.

The Ambiano Electric Pressure Cooker’s lid can be opened before enough steam pressure releases, “causing hot contents to escape,” the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission warned.

The USPSC received 11 reports of the appliance’s contents being “expelled under pressure,” including eight incidents that led to severe burns.


FDA expands list of imported cookware that may leach lead into food

The recall applies to the brand’s six-quart and eight-quart capacity cookers, which were sold nationwide at Aldi stores between January 2016 and December 2019.

96775 (KY-318A)

98527 (6L-PC)

Customers who purchased the item are entitled to a refund by contacting Aldi or manufacturer Tempo USA.
