(NewsNation) — Co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” said this week they’d like to have more Republicans on the daytime talk show, but Joy Behar suggested members of the GOP are “scared” of the female panel.

“Well, that might be true of all political persuasions,” she added. “But if they would come on this show and they can explain to us what they’re trying to do to this country, I’d like to hear it.”

Following the remarks, conservative pundits and lawmakers took to social media to say they’re happy to oblige. Florida Congressman Byron Donalds, a Republican who is running for governor of the Sunshine State, said his offer to appear “still stands.”

“I’m ready when you are!” he posted on X.

Other would-be guests angling for a chance to appear on the “The View” included conservative activists Riley Gaines and Robby Starbuck.

“Many qualified people have stepped up to the plate to enlighten the ladies on ‘The View’ on different perspectives in our country,” podcaster and influencer Jillian Michaels told “On Balance” on Thursday. “I’m excited that they’re opening up a channel to bridge ideologies, but I find it unlikely that they will make good on it.”
