Rite Aid officially closes all stores nationwide

(WJW) – Rite Aid officially closed all its remaining stores Friday.

The decades-old drugstore chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year.

A message posted to the company’s website confirmed the closures: “All Rite Aid stores have now closed. We thank our loyal customers for their many years of support.”

The pharmacy chain, which filed for bankruptcy in May for the second time in less than two years, had operated more than 2,300 stores across 17 states before the most recent filing

Despite the closures, Rite Aid’s website indicates that former customers can still access their prescription and vaccination records online.
