(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will attend an annual flag ceremony Thursday at the Pentagon as the nation marks 24 years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The event, which honors the 184 service members and civilians killed when a jetliner flew into the U.S. military headquarters, began at sunrise with the unfurling of the American flag. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was in attendance.
