(NewsNation) — Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is scheduled to attend a Tuesday morning White House press briefing, where he will likely provide updates on the nation’s tariff negotiations.
The briefing will begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT. and will be streamed here when it begins.
Bessent is the latest top Trump official to join press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a series of public briefings to mark the president’s first 100 days in office.

On Monday, Bessent on social media said tariff negotiations are going “very well” with the United States’ Asian trading partners, despite a standstill with China.
“We are continuing to make substantive movement on negotiations with many of our trading partners,” Bessent’s post read in part.
In an interview that same day, Bessent called on China to make the first move toward de-escalation and said “these 120%, 145% tariffs are unsustainable” for both nations.
