Trump pushes Democrats to ‘verge of collapse’: Bill O’Reilly

(NewsNation) — Attempts by Democrats to push back on President Trump during his speech to Congress have boomeranged to the extent that their party could effectively be silenced for years to come, Bill O’Reilly argues.

O’Reilly says low points for Democrats on Tuesday included the ejection of Al Green, D-Texas, after he interrupted the president and waved a cane, and the party’s refusal to acknowledge a young cancer survivor whom Trump highlighted during his speech.

The party’s all-consuming hatred toward the president, as O’Reilly describes it, could turn off voters and relegate Democrats to the type of irrelevancy Republicans suffered during the 1930s and 1940s.

Al Green’s protest at Trump speech not helping Democrats: Stirewalt

“He taunted the Democratic Party into making a myriad of mistakes,” O’Reilly, referring to Trump, said during an appearance on NewsNation’s “CUOMO” on Wednesday. “I think the Democratic Party is on the verge of collapse.”

Chris Cuomo responded that hostility isn’t solely the purview of Democrats.

“You can’t look at Trumpism, you can’t look at MAGA, and not see a hateful dynamic,” he said. “There’s a lot of hate to go around, Bill, it’s not just the Democrats. They’ve just now fallen into it.”

O’Reilly said there are some elements of hatred within the Trump sphere, but he added, “It wasn’t on display” Tuesday.
