(NewsNation) — After President Joe Biden leaves the White House in January, Trump could leverage the newly Republican-controlled Congress to take aim at several Biden executive orders he no longer wants in place.

Immigration
In June, Biden announced a series of executive actions that would limit the flow of illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The changes allowed his administration to close the border between legal ports of entry, meaning border agents could turn away asylum-seekers if crossings surpassed a certain number per day.

Biden also implemented a policy that aimed to ease the path to citizenship for some undocumented immigrants who are married to U.S. citizens, but a federal judge struck it down earlier this month.
The program allowed undocumented spouses and stepchildren of U.S. citizens to apply for a green card without first having to leave the country.
One of Trump’s campaign issues is to “carry out the largest deportation operation in American history,” according to his campaign website.
He will likely push for a complete overhaul to implement immigration policies of his own.

LGBTQ+ rights
In 2022, Biden signed an executive order on “Advancing Equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Individuals.”
The policy made unlawful any discrimination against people in the LGBTQ community.
It was consistent with another of his executive orders that year on addressing discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Trump’s platform has promoted banning transgender women from participating in women’s sports and mandating teachers to report students who tell them they are transgender.

Reproductive health care
Roe v. Wade, which protected the federal right to abortion, was overturned in 2022. However, a majority of voters in seven states this election cycle passed ballot measures to protect the right to abortion in their respective state constitutions.
During Trump’s presidential campaign, he said he would not sign a federal abortion ban and instead supported states deciding their own policies. Yet Vice President-elect JD Vance said on the campaign trail that he would support a nation law limiting rights.
Biden issued an order that ensured women’s access to reproductive health care across state lines. Last month, he proposed a rule that would cover the cost of over-the-counter birth control.

Tax policies
Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act removed the requirement for taxpayers to buy a health insurance plan, raised the standard deduction on tax returns, raised the child tax credit, suspended the personal exemption and more.
Biden’s 2022 Inflation Reduction Act was passed to “meet its climate goals and strengthen energy security, investing in America to create good-paying jobs, reducing energy and health care costs for families, and making the tax code fairer.”
For taxpayers, the IRA provides a $7,500 credit to those who buy certain electric vehicles and home energy efficiency credits.
Some Republicans have already said they plan to review the IRA.
