(KTLA) — Trader Joe’s mini totes, which went viral on social media earlier this year, will be back in stock later this month.

A representative for the supermarket chain confirmed to NewsNation local affiliate KTLA that the totes will return to stores on Sept. 18 as a limited product.

The $2.99 bags quickly became a viral sensation when they were released in February. Various videos posted to social media show customers quickly grabbing the bags as soon as they hit shelves. Some even compared the mini totes’ popularity to the Stanley cups, or “Quenchers,” as they are officially known.

What polls are saying ahead of Trump-Harris debate

The success of the mini totes surprised Trader Joe’s officials. During an episode of the “Insider Trader Joe’s” podcast host Matt Sloan said that the supermarket originally had enough inventory to last a few weeks.

“We had actually hundreds of thousands of bags come in and go out within a week,” he said. “We had no inkling that they would be this exciting, this quickly, for so many customers.”

The popular bags come in four colors: green, red, yellow and blue.
