(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump spoke at the America Business Forum where he touted his economic agenda during his second term.

During his speech at the forum on Wednesday, Trump acknowledged the one year anniversary of his election victory, which he said was the “single most consequential election” in U.S. history.

“We rescued our economy, regained our liberty and together, we saved our country,” Trump said.

The event comes as the Supreme Court heard arguments on the legality of the tariffs Trump has placed on dozens of countries Wednesday. Trump said his tariffs have begun to bring in millions of dollars into the country.

A recent NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll shows 39% of Americans feel less economically secure compared to previous years.

Trump remarked during his speech that his administration was able to curb inflation through DOGE by cutting waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government, saying that former president Joe Biden brought him a country with a “bad inflation problem.”

He also said Americans could see gas prices as low as $2 per gallon.

“Prices are coming down very fast,” Trump said. He added that workers’ wages have also gone up during his second term so far.

Spanning two days, the forum features a star-studded lineup of business leaders and athletes, such as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and tennis star Serena Williams.
