(NewsNation) — Chrysler has recalled more than 320,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid SUVs due to the possibility of high-voltage battery failure, which could lead to a fire.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall applies to 228,221 Jeep Wranglers model years 2020-2025 and 91,844 Jeep Grand Cherokees model years 2022-2026. Five percent of those vehicles are estimated to contain the defect.
“Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed,” according to the NHTSA.
