(NewsNation) — The chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., tells NewsNation there needs to be further investigation into whether crimes were committed in the Biden White House.
House Republicans have called on the Justice Department to launch an investigation into the Biden administration’s use of an autopen, an effort they hope will unwind various actions taken by former President Joe Biden.
The 100-page report released Tuesday caps an investigation brought by the panel following questions about Biden’s mental acuity.

“The president was shielded from everyone, even the senior staffers, who admitted under oath that some of them would see him less than once a month,” Comer told “The Hill on NewsNation.”
Comer used former White House secretary Ian Sams as an example of how there was some cover-up during the Biden administration.
“[He] gave daily press conferences during the Biden influence-peddling investigation that I led, during the Robert Hur investigation, he gave daily briefings implying he was talking to President Biden. But when we got him under oath, he admitted he only saw President Biden in person in two years. It’s evidence of a cover-up,” Comer said.
“It’s relevant because this president… just went haywire with the auto pin. They signed all these executive orders,” he added.

Comer also asked the D.C. Department of Health’s Board of Medicine to investigate Biden’s doctor.
The most significant requests associated with the report fall to Attorney General Pam Bondi, including whether any Biden pardons should be overturned.
Any investigation by Bondi could potentially lay the groundwork for future legal battles should the Trump administration attempt to remove any actions or pardons signed by Biden.
A spokesperson for former President Biden rebuked the committee’s reasoning for a request Tuesday.
“This investigation into baseless claims has confirmed what has been clear from the start: President Biden made the decisions of his presidency,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “There was no conspiracy, no cover-up, and no wrongdoing. Congressional Republicans should stop focusing on political retribution and instead work to end the government shutdown.”
