Document360 Global Writers Awards: Celebrating the Elite of Technical Writing

If you’ve ever spent hours rewriting a paragraph so it makes sense to both an engineer and a first-time user, you already know clear writing is hard work.

Behind every product, seamless onboarding, delivering customer experience, or even the internal process, there is a person who turns ideas into impactful content.

The Document360 Global Writers Awards were created to recognize 50 professionals from around the world who’ve gone beyond good documentation and built real clarity. These are writers, strategists, and documentation leads whose work has changed how teams write, share, and think about product knowledge.

For once, the spotlight is on the people who make everything else work.

What Makes These Awards Stand Out

A lot of awards sound impressive on paper. This one actually means something.

First, it’s peer-driven and credible. Eight respected judges, all senior documentation professionals from companies like Google, Shopify, AWS, and Adobe, review every nomination. These people who do the same kind of work you do, so they know what  absolute excellence looks like.

Second, the recognition carries weight. Winners receive a personalized digital certificate and badge, which they can proudly add to their LinkedIn profile, resume, or portfolio.

And third, being named among the top 50 gives you global visibility. Your work gets featured, shared, and discussed in spaces where technical writing decisions actually happen.

If your work has helped users, simplified complexity, or made documentation more usable, you belong in that list.

Who Deserves the Spotlight?

You already know the type of person we’re talking about. The one who catches a broken sentence in a release note seconds before launch. The one who explains a workflow better than the engineer who built it.

That’s who these awards are for.

It doesn’t matter whether you work solo, lead a doc team, or balance writing with five other roles. The nomination is open to:

Technical Writers
API Documentation Specialists
UX Writers
Content Strategists
Information Architects
Developer Advocates
Documentation Managers or Leads

If that sounds like you, or someone you work with, this is your sign to put that name forward.

The Standards of Excellence

The bar is simple when it comes to judging the Document360 Global Writers Awards: good writing helps people do things faster and smarter. That’s it. To make sure the selection is fair and simple, your work will be judged on the following four criteria.

Innovation: Did you make something work better? You might have cut down review time, built a smarter way to organize docs, or turned feedback chaos into a clean workflow. That’s innovation. You don’t need to invent the next AI writer (please don’t). Just show how you improved the craft in a useful way.
Clarity: It isn’t clarity if you have to delete half a paragraph to get it. Your writing must respect the reader’s time. If someone can follow your docs without asking for help, you’ve nailed it.
Impact: What changed because of your work? Did users stop filing tickets? Did onboarding go smoother? Did your docs become the internal standard that others copy? The outcomes you can point to are what we call impact.
Influence: Who did you help get better at this work? Maybe you mentored a new writer, shared tips on Slack, or gave a talk to improve how they document. Influence here is about giving back, not showing off.

Public Voting

After the judges go through every nomination, the list opens up to the community. It’s your peers (people who’ve debugged doc builds and rewritten the same paragraph twenty times) will weigh in. This is where writers back writers.

Because no algorithm knows this field like we do.

Your Next Step in the Celebration

Let’s get to the easy part. Go to the Document360 Global Writers Awards page, fill out the short form, and tell us what you worked on: what it solved, who it helped, or how it made things better. That’s it. You’ll find all the details on the Document360 Global Writers Awards blog.

If you know someone whose docs have saved you time, taught you something, or just made your day easier, put their name in. If that someone is you, go ahead and submit your own. You’ve earned it. Submit your nomination today.
