(NewsNation) — Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy believes “No Kings” protesters hate the United States and rejected suggestions President Donald Trump is a tyrannical leader.

Demonstrators are once again taking to the streets for a nationwide series of protests against the Trump administration on Oct. 18.

According to a post from the Indivisible project, around 2,000 protests are scheduled.

“[It’s] actually a hate America protest,” Duffy told “Batya!” Donald Trump, king? He won the seven swing states, he won the popular vote, and then everything he’s doing, he actually ran on during the campaign trail. He told everybody he was going to do this, and the majority of Americans voted for him.

“This is just disenfranchised Democrats. But also George Soros is funding it. The socialists of America are funding and supporting, and so are the communists of America supporting this rally,” Duffy added.

The transportation secretary also reiterated the federal government will withhold $40 million from the state of California for a refusal to comply with its English language requirements for truck drivers.

“It’s not new, I didn’t create it. It goes back a couple of decades, multiple presidents, it’s just that I said, ‘I’m going to enforce the law and make sure that there’s compliance,'” Duffy said.

He added every state that was previously uncompliant had agreed to change except California. Duffy noted it was imperative for all truck drivers to speak English and understand all road signs.

“They’re endangering other lives in America because of the rules that California refuses to follow. So we’re taking away money from California. We’re going to drive safety, even though Gavin Newsom, again, cares more about people who don’t speak the language,” Duffy said.
