(NewsNation) — As Americans contend with rising prices, some are turning to GoFundMe as a way to access daily necessities.
According to CEO Tim Cadogan, the economy is so tough for some Americans that some users are requesting help with groceries.
“In some cases, very sadly, that is happening. We’re seeing it more and more,” Cadogan said on the “Opening Bid Unfiltered” podcast.

Cadogan said the company is “really focused” on increasing the quantity of GDP that goes toward giving.
“It’s about 2%. It’s nothing, it’s pretty modest, and it’s been stuck there for 50 years,” he said. “As you see this shift in maybe government doing less, we think there’s a real opportunity to help increase that percentage, specifically in the U.S.”
