(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump has called on pharmaceutical companies to release data that points to the success rate of their “various COVID drugs.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that there is a disagreement on whether the drugs actually saved lives, and that he’s seen “extraordinary” information “from Pfizer, and others” that has never been released to the public.

“They show me GREAT numbers and results, but they don’t seem to be showing them to many others,” Trump wrote. “I want them to show them NOW, to CDC and the public, and clear up this MESS, one way or the other!!!”
He did not clarify what drugs he wanted to see data on, whether it be vaccinations or the anti-viral medication Paxlovid.
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines had a 94.6% efficacy rate at the time of its launch, while Paxlovid reduced the mortality or hospitalization rate of COVID-19 by 78%.
