(NewsNation) — Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson have filed to trademark the term “Gold Digger.”
According to Clict, Belichick’s TCE Rights Management LLC, which is run by Hudson, filed the trademark to use the term on jewelry and keychains.
A “gold digger” is defined as someone who enters a relationship with someone for the sole purpose of getting money from them. The term has been used to describe the 24-year-old cheerleader, who went public with their relationship in June 2024.

The pair reportedly met on a flight in 2021, The New York Times reports.
Under Hudson, TCE Rights Management LLC filed 17 trademark applications in a week earlier in 2025, including “Chapel Bill,” “Belestrator,” “Trail of Salty Tears,” “No Days Off” and “The Belichick Way,” Clict reports.
Hudson has been by a constant at the 73-year-old’s side, who is preparing ahead of his first season as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s head coach.
Belichick, who led the Patriots to six Super Bowl championships, reportedly earned $200 million as the team’s head coach and is reportedly earning $10 million a year coaching UNC’s football team, according to the Times.
Jordon Hudson delays Bill Belichick’s CBS interview: Report
Earlier this year, Belichick sat down with CBS’ Tony Doukoupil to promote his book, but the interview went off track when Hudson, who was sitting off camera, shot down a question from Dokoupil on how they met, NewsNation’s Paula Froelich reported.
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said, who reportedly stormed out of the interview, delaying the shoot.

Bill Belichick addressed the controversy surrounding Hudson’s role at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during a press conference in June after he revealed on “The Pivot” podcast with ESPN’s Ryan Clark in mid-May that he requested she be copied on all emails because he didn’t have any help at the time.
“No, she doesn’t have any role in the UNC football program. But again, there’s been noise out there about a lot of different things,” the head coach told reporters. “Again, our focus is day-to-day, getting better, stacking good days together.”
Bill Belichick’s family, friends concerned about relationship, insider says
While Belichick seems happy, insiders say his family and friends are concerned.
“They are talking to him about her, but very gently because they know how deep in he is,” an insider told The New York Post. “This guy is known as being such a strong voice and in many ways autocratic — and here he is becoming mush in her hands and letting her direct everything.”
