(NewsNation) — Cracker Barrel is reversing course hours after President Donald Trump urged the company to “admit a mistake” and go back to its old logo.
Following loud criticism from some fans, including Trump and Donald Trump Jr., Cracker Barrel says it won’t be changing its logo after all.
“We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain,” the company announced on Facebook.
“At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.”

Last week, Cracker Barrel announced that, as part of an ongoing makeover, the chain’s new logo would ditch the eponymous barrel. In the new trimmed-down logo, seen below, the old-timey look of the man with a barrel is gone, as are the words “Old Country Store.”
Beyond the new logo, it has also started remodeling its country-style restaurants and retail stores. The company began ramping up this overhaul last year by swapping out older, more antique-filled designs with lighter paint and modern furniture.
The company’s stock also dropped by $94 million in one day following the logo change.
Trump weighs in
On Tuesday, Trump urged Cracker Barrel to reconsider its plans to rebrand.
“Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website. “They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity.”
After reverting to its former logo, Trump praised Cracker Barrel.
“Congratulations, ‘Cracker Barrel’ on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again!”
