(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump said there will be land swaps in order to get a ceasefire deal in Ukraine on Monday and called his upcoming meeting with Russia a “feel-out” meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska will include him telling Putin to end the war and saying that land swapping will be done.
Trump also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not be present during the talks.
The president said he would “try” to get some land back from Ukraine and called it a violent and terrible war. He also blamed President Joe Biden for the conflict, which was started by Russia.
Trump said, depending on the conversation, he may propose a deal to Zelenskyy and European leaders or he may walk away and say ‘good luck.”
