Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is testifying Wednesday morning before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on the department’s fiscal 2026 budget request.
The hearing comes as Duffy and President Trump have vowed a full overhaul of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and air traffic control following a string of severe service outages and aviation accidents. Earlier this year, Duffy outlined priorities for the upgraded system including more modern technology and a robust recruitment and retention program for air traffic controllers.
It also follows Duffy’s recent appointment as interim NASA administrator, on top of his duties as Transportation secretary, after Trump withdrew the name of his first nominee to head the space agency.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
