(NewsNation) — If you’re a “Star Wars” fanatic who wants to join the dark side, here’s your chance. Warning, though: Iit’s going to cost you.

Propstore Auction announced this week that it is selling Darth Vader’s lightsaber, which is expected to fetch upward of $3 million. The authentic, screen-matched hilt was used by David Prowse and his stunt double in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

“The prop is made from a British press camera flash handle,” according to Propstore Auction’s description of the item.

“It was converted to a lightsaber prop with the addition of dressing components such as plastic grips, small electrical wires and a circuit board with magnifying bubbles from a calculator. The prop photo matches to production stills from The Empire Strikes Back and screen matches to Return of the Jedi based on specific damage to the body. The prop has been in a private collection for decades, and largely unseen outside of the films themselves. It is coming to light and being made available at auction for the first time.”

This prop is believed to be the only lightsaber used on screen offered at public auction. In addition, it is one of the rarest and most sought-after “Star Wars” props in existence.

Along with Darth Vader’s lightsaber, Propstore’s Auction is selling Indiana Jones’ bullwhip and belt from “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and Sauron’s helmet from “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.”

The Propstore Auction takes place this September in Los Angeles.
