(NewsNation) — The U.S. Justice Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration are set to give a joint update on the DOJ’s Operation Take Back America initiative.
The initiative, according to the DOJ, was started to combat ” illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and ending illegal trafficking of dangerous drugs and human beings.”
It includes investigations and prosecutions relating to immigration enforcement, such as cases involving obstruction of immigration objectives by sanctuary jurisdictions and “efforts to target” cartels identified in Executive Order 14157.
The announcement is set for 1 p.m. CT.
