(NEXSTAR) – There’s good news for fans of the beloved grocery store chain Publix this July.
Maria Brous, director of communications for the Lakeland, Florida-based company, told Nexstar that two locations are slated to open in Florida and a third in Georgia.
The Florida locations are both set to open July 19, one at the Bayshore Gardens Shopping Center in Bradenton and the other at the Riverland Town Center in Port Saint Lucie.

On July 23, the third location will open at the Cambridge Square Shopping Center in Brookhaven, Georgia.
“We continue to expand our footprint within our 8-state operating area which includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky,” Brous said in an emailed statement. “We’re always looking for the opportunity to grow … having said that, there is plenty of room for continued growth in the states we currently operate in.”
In June alone, Publix already opened stores in Lexington, Kentucky; Meridianville, Alabama; Foley, Alabama; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Pompano Beach, Florida.
The expansion comes as consumers and retailers alike brace for inflation, but, at least so far, Publix remains as popular as ever.

For the last two years, the American Customer Satisfaction Index has ranked Publix first (tying with Costco and H-E-B in 2024, then with Trader Joe’s in 2025) among American supermarkets.
Publix currently operates 1,411 store locations, with 880 in Florida alone.
