(NEXSTAR) – DoorDash has resumed service after thousands of customers and DoorDash employees (aka “Dashers”) reported outages with the company’s food-delivery app early on Wednesday morning.
“DoorDash is back up and running and people can now use the app as normal,” a spokesperson for DoorDash wrote in a statement shared with Nexstar.

DownDetector, an online outage tracker, began receiving reports of issues with the DoorDash app around 5 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning, with over 5,500 reports lodged at approximately 8 a.m. ET. Drivers and customers had also voiced complaints on social media, with some sharing screenshots of the error messages they received on their apps.
“Hey @DoorDash FIX YOUR DASHER APP IM TRYING TO EARLY MORNING GRIND AND THE APP IS DOWN,” one agitated employee wrote on X.
“Is anyone else having issues with the dasher app right now?” another asked, before describing the situation as “unreal.”
Reported issues with the DoorDash app fell to several hundred by 9:30 a.m. ET. A representative for DoorDash said service had been fully restored by 10:30 a.m. ET.
Those who attempted to make purchases and vendors who had prepared food for the affected dashers will be compensated, according to the company.
“We’re actively issuing refunds to all customers who were charged for undelivered orders and to merchants who prepared orders that were not completed,” a spokesperson said. “We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience.”
