House assures funding for vets – BusinessWorld Online
THE House of Representatives will ensure ample funding for clinics serving military veterans when deliberations for the 2026 national budget begin later this year, Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez said on Sunday.
“With the incoming 20th Congress poised to deliberate on the Executive branch’s National Expenditure Program for 2026, we will make sure that the establishment of more Valor Clinics in underserved areas receives ample support in the national budget,” he said in a statement, referring to a government programmed aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of veterans.
The Valor Clinic program seeks to decentralize the health services provided by the government’s main military hospital by establishing a network of clinics in military sites nationwide, helping address the healthcare needs of more than 400,000 veterans.
Mr. Romualdez said the program will roll out in three phases, and eyes the establishment of 15 clinics nationwide by 2028. — Kenneth Christiane L. Basilio
