(NewsNation) — Kevin O’Leary — the Canadian entrepreneur, investor and co-star of “Shark Tank” — says he’s OK with letting President Trump play the long game in his trade war with China in hopes of curbing that country’s misconduct.
“This is going to get worked out because the U.S. is the largest consumer economy on Earth. The Chinese want to keep these people in these factories, making stuff. They’re going to have to cut a deal with the U.S.,” O’Leary said during “On Balance” on Thursday.

He concedes that the U.S.-China trade war has created market volatility but said he supports Trump’s stated goals of leveling the playing field. O’Leary said China steals intellectual property from competitors, lists companies illegally on U.S. exchanges and denies access to their markets.
“This litany of problems with China has to get dealt with, and I’m very happy to see that it’s finally coming to a head. You may not like the volatility. I don’t care. We’ve got to get it resolved,” he said.
