Didn’t get a Trader Joe’s mini pastel tote? You can buy one for over $1,000 on eBay

NEW YORK (WPIX) – Trader Joe’s again released a new line of mini tote bags — this time in pastel colors — only for them to, again, quickly sell out at many stores.

The limited-edition tote bags became available in many Trader Joe’s locations Wednesday morning.

And as they did last year, customers were quick to snag the bags. If you weren’t among them, you’re in luck — but only if you’re willing to spend a pretty penny.

Some eBay users are listing the recently dropped pastel mini totes, which come in pink, blue, green and purple, for over $1,000. One listing, which features a misprinted Trader Joe’s logo, is asking for nearly $2,000.

The tote bags retail for $2.99 each in stores that still have them in stock.

The original Trader Joe’s mini totes launched in March of last year and led to a buyer frenzy. The iconic bags then returned to store shelves in September.

Amid last year’s hot resale market for its totes, Trader Joe’s issued a statement saying it neither “condones nor supports the reselling of our products” and will do “all we can to stop the practice.”

Trader Joe’s shared a similar statement with Nexstar on Wednesday, adding that the tote bags will be “restocked daily for as long as they are available.”

“If customers have any questions about product availability, they can ask any Crew Member in their neighborhood store,” a spokesperson added.
