(NewsNation) — The March for Life rally returns to Washington today, this time to celebrate two-and-a-half years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and buoyed by hopes that a GOP-led Congress and President Trump will enact a nationwide ban on terminating pregnancies.

A rally is scheduled for noon on the National Mall and we expect a string of Republicans to speak about their anti-abortion plans.

President Donald Trump will not be in attendance, as he has a Friday trip to North Carolina on his schedule. However, he did record a video to speak to supporters.

Vice President JD Vance, a Catholic, is in attendance and is scheduled to speak.

“President Trump governed as a pro-life president during his first term, which resulted in a long list of accomplishments,” March for Life leaders Jeanne Mancini and Jennie Bradley said in a statement to NewsNation partner The Hill.

“We look forward to working with him and Vice President Vance as they dismantle the Biden Administration’s aggressive and unpopular abortion agenda and once again put wins on the board for vulnerable unborn children and their mothers,” they added.
