Trump mocks Biden with impression hours after transfer of power

President Trump mocked former President Biden for saying that he thinks he could have beaten him in November, just hours after Trump’s swearing in on Monday.

“Has anyone ever heard of Kamala?” Trump said at his indoor inauguration parade at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, drawing boos from the crowd.

“We had to beat two opponents. We had to beat Biden and we beat him… the guy was like 39 points down — ‘I think I could have beaten Trump. They should have left me in, I could have beaten,’” he said, mocking Biden.

The former president said earlier this month that he thinks he would have beaten Trump if he stuck with his reelection bid in an interview with USA Today.

Biden said that he based that view on polling he reviewed but didn’t elaborate on where the data came from. When the president dropped out of the 2024 race in late July, he was behind Trump in both national and battleground polls

“His debate performance wasn’t the best, that’s what killed him,” Trump added.

Biden withdrew his reelection bid amid pressure from Democrats to do so, following a dismal debate performance in June against Trump that raised questions over his age and mental fitness.

Trump signed executive orders after his remarks and yelled out, “Could you imagine Biden doing this? I don’t think so.”

Earlier in the day, Biden greeted Trump at the White House with “welcome home” for a tea with their wives. The two couples then motorcaded to the Capitol together for the swearing-in.

After the swearing-in, the Trumps then saw off the Bidens when they entered a helicopter to take them to Joint Base Andrews.
