(NewsNation) — President Joe Biden has granted clemency to Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, co-founder of the organization Black Mafia Family (BMF).

Flenory was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2008 after prosecutors linked him and his brother, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, to an international drug trafficking operation, according to WXIA-TV.

In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Terry Flenory was released from federal prison and ordered to serve the rest of his sentence on house arrest, WXYZ-TV reported.

Terry Flenory celebrated the decision on Instagram, sharing a photo of his clemency affidavit and videos of him removing his house arrest device, writing, “It’s been a journey, but prayer and unwavering faith beyond mere human comprehension got us to this point.”

Demetrius Flenory has not yet been pardoned. However, in October, he was transferred to a residential reentry program in Miami to serve the remainder of his sentence.

Known for their leadership in BMF, both Terry and Demetrius Felonry’s stories have been widely covered in the media and are dramatized in the Starz series “BMF.”
