(NewsNation) — Kimberly Guilfoyle and her allies kept insisting all was fine with her and her fiancé Don Trump Jr. (see here and here), but in the end, the relationship appears to have been doomed from the moment Don Jr. laid eyes on Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson this year.

Kimberly Guilfoyle gets Greece after Don Jr. allegedly dumps her

When it allegedly became clear last week that Guilfoyle was being replaced by a younger model, she was offered a soft landing: the ambassadorship to Greece, a plum role.

“It’s a consolation prize,” my source said. “It’s a way to keep everyone happy and Kimberly to bow out gracefully — and, because they haven’t officially announced their break up, it’s a way for her to say ‘we grew apart.'”

Don Jr. and Kimberly splitting up properties

It’s also supposedly a way to keep things amicable until Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. can split the multiple properties they own.

“They own several properties in Florida together and if she wasn’t treated well, it would be a major problem.”

Sadly, this means Guilfoyle won’t get the White House wedding of her dreams (which may very well go to Anderson), but “trust me, she will insist on being called Madam Ambassador for the rest of her life… and Greece has many single billionaires to choose from,” my source snickered.
